The authors of the other 39% of the reviews feel that this toaster oven falls short in both the toasting and oven functions. Overall Review- 73% of the reviews for this Hamilton Beach toaster oven are very favorable and accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. Those who wrote the positive reviews love the versatility of this toaster oven, especially the ability to use it as a rotisserie. The convection feature allows you to bake very quickly and evenly, and this feature is much more quiet than other inexpensive toaster ovens.
The cons? Despite the name, this oven does not toast very well. It is just too large for that. Wherever you place the bread, one side of it will be too far away from a heating element to be sufficiently toasted. Many people don't mind this, since most toaster ovens are prized for the oven aspects they offer. But if you plan on regularly using your toaster oven for toast, this is not the model for you.
Other issues brought up in the reviews include a lack of an interior light (very common on toaster ovens) and a lack of insulation. The latter causes the outside of the oven to become very hot while in use, and allows heat to escape into the room. Overall, many people feel the materials used to construct this oven are just too cheap and flimsy. This is, however, a very large oven for it's price range and the rotisserie adds much versatility. You may want to consider this as an option, especially if making toast is not high on your list of priorities. See 235 Toaster Oven Reviewsfor this Hamilton Beach toaster oven.
